Job Summary:

SEGA is seeking an experienced, highly capable Sr Software Engineer to join our talented team to help port and publish our games on Steam. They will be responsible for providing direct support to our external partner developers from Asia, America, and Europe as well as to internal stakeholders to implement our development standards that we refer to as ‘Best practices for PC Development.’ This role is deeply involved in multiple projects, both future and ongoing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop coding samples

  • Research new technologies
  • Work with SVP of Product Development to perform due diligence with development partners

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of PC game development (Windows) experience
  • Japanese – English bilingual
  • Knowledge and experience in language such as C, C++, C#, etc.
  • Strong background in developing game with C++ native code
  • Strong knowledge in Windows API and other open source libraries
  • Experience shipping a game to Steam platform
  • Experience implementing Steam API and other Third-party SDKs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PC game architecture
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills – success will come through collaboration
  • Self-motivated and able to break down complex tasks

Job Summary:

Sega of America is seeking a Communications Manager who will drive the PR, social, and communications strategies for several key brands within the SEGA portfolio throughout NA and EMEA.  In this position, you will play a critical role in crafting and telling the story of each game campaign to players, media, and content creators.  Reporting to the Brand Marketing Director, the ideal candidate has a minimum of 4-6 years of public relations experience in the gaming industry and is passionate about games and players.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with brand marketing, public relations, community, and development teams in the Americas, EMEA, and Japan to drive the overarching communication strategy and lead the campaign narrative for multiple launches each year.
  • Act as subject matter expert for assigned titles and represent SEGA IP to external media.
  • Arrange live or virtual communications events such as hands-on presentations and media tours.
  • Be the point of contact for all endemic and non-endemic media contacts throughout NA.
  • Build and execute first look, hands-on, preview, and review strategies resulting in maximum press coverage.
  • Manage US PR agencies in activities ranging from day-to-day operations to executing break-through promotions.
  • Manage all PR assets, including scheduling, creation, approval, and publishing to achieve pre-set PR beats.
  • Outline, write and secure approval of press releases, media advisories, newsletters, and other messaging.
  • Work closely with NA and EMEA publishing teams to oversee content creators, celebrities, and live streaming strategies across Twitch, YouTube, and other social media channels.
  • Analyze and report earned media campaign results with a focus on quantifiable metrics utilizing PR analytics tools such as Meltwater and Synthesio.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 4-6 years of experience in a public relations role, gaming industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent project management and PR planning skills.
  • Knowledge of media landscape and competitive products within the gaming industry.
  • Strong verbal, written, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient with Photoshop, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and PR measurement tools preferred.

Localization Producer

Summary

SEGA of America is seeking a Localization Producer to help deliver top-class, Japan-originating product to Western markets. Our producers are internationally-minded professionals who coordinate between our Japan-based development teams, our Irvine-based J2E language teams and Europe- based EU language teams, distributed QA services, and NA/EU Marketing teams to deliver world-renowned SEGA and Atlus product to market on time, on budget, and at target quality.

  • Gathering and digesting information about your project to figure out its scope and how much work it will take to complete.

Video Game Producer

Sega is seeking an experienced, creative, highly capable Video Game Producer to join our talented team in developing the next generation of award-winning games for console, PC, and emerging platforms. The Producer will primarily be responsible for managing external development teams globally, as well as supporting the product publishing and development process from concept through and after release. Responsibilities include greenlighting, scheduling, tracking development, budgeting, and ensuring team deliverables are met in a timely manner, on budget and at high quality. The Producer will also manage and coordinate a wide array of relationships with internal stakeholders globally along with internal team resources to produce content and assets for multiple platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the execution of the game development process to produce high quality content within business parameters such as schedule, quality, and
  • Creating and maintaining project plans, in conjunction with the development team(s), including scope, resources, schedule, and budget.
  • Working closely with business development team to identify and vet development partners worldwide.
  • Leading the creation of game design and definition by developing concept design documents and specifications in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Setting expectations both internally and with our external development partners through clear documentation and communication.

The skills & experience we’re looking for:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the entertainment software industry, with the most recent role preferably in a leadership position.
  • Experience managing internal game development
  • Industry experience on both development and publisher sides a plus.
  • Producer experience of the entire lifecycle of video-game software development (concept to ship) of at least one title on current generation consoles/platforms (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC).
  • Expertise in one area in addition to production. (design, engineering, art, QA, etc.)
  • Practical experience with modern production methodologies.
  • Experience with project management software (Jira, Hansoft, DevTrack, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

SEGA is looking for a talented, sharp, and effective Compliance Specialist to work on the next generation of award-winning games for console, PC, and emerging platforms. Compliance Specialists would be responsible for performing first-party certification testing, providing support to our PD/QA departments for compliance-related inquiries, and learning and being knowledgeable about compliance standards for all platforms. The ideal candidate would be detail-oriented and a team player with good communication skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing first-party compliance passes on SEGA QA projects with a primary focus on Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft platforms.
  • Additional focus on emerging streaming platforms, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna.
  • For PC platforms (Steam, EGS, Origin), following SEGA’s industry-leading PC Best Practices and conducting internal review of PC projects in QA.
  • Continuing to adapt to PC market trends and adjust our Best Practice standards as necessary.
  • Writing clear and concise bug reports in relation to first-party standards.
