Job Summary:

SEGA is looking for a Live Operations & Customer Service Coordinator who will actively engage in providing end-user support, conducting related investigations, and completing and reporting server maintenance.  In this position, they will provide supports in all facets of the day-to-day operations of a major free-to-play multiplatform MORPG title. They must be able to use customer service skills to guide the team by identifying problems, investigating, and recommending solutions. Evening to late-night shift on server maintenance days is required

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Make updates and work closely within SEGA and with their LiveOps partner company
  • Closely monitor and respond to end-user support tickets, identify user issues to solve problems, and escalate to higher-level investigators
  • Identify needs, problems, common opinions, and end-user sentiment through the customer support system, and report solutions to LiveOps manager
  • Assist with in-game testing through game maintenances to ensure product accuracy and stability, taking ownership of checklists, and diligently reporting bugs or abnormalities discovered
  • Provide support and assistance to other teams as needed

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • At least two years of Live Operations experience in the games industry, or three years of Customer Service experience for a digital product
  • Able to effectively work in a team environment and on individual projects with minimal supervision
  • Must be willing to work irregular hours for scheduled service maintenance
  • Actively engaged in current games industry news with an understanding of gamer culture
  • Excellent written communication skills; able to convey complex concepts in simple language
  • Passionate gamer with deep experience playing online games, especially MMORPGs or MORPGs and a deep understanding of game data structure
  • Proficiency in general office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, along with a keen grasp of modern social media platforms
  • At least one year of experience in investigating databases with SQL is preferred
  • At least one year of experience in investigating log files in text format is preferred
  • Being able to work and communicate in Japanese with Japanese proficiency in writing and reading equivalent to JLPT N1 or better is preferred

Job Summary:

The First Party & Events Manager reports to the Director, First Party & Events to support all SEGA Brand teams on First Party marketing and event activations for the new console, PC, and mobile game launches, as well as ongoing live services updates. She/he will support key partner relationships with First Party platforms (e.g. PlayStation, Microsoft, Apple, Google) as a central point of contact and cross-functional evangelist. The successful candidate will have experience in project management for marketing and events, knowledge of the digital gaming and mobile ecosystems, and be skilled at operating within a matrix structure, interfacing with a cross-section of international stakeholders.

The ideal individual will be a highly organized self-starter, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a solid understanding of digital and partner marketing. They will have a keen eye for detail, tracking ongoing updates for game roadmaps and developing first-party pitches and communications, as well as overseeing the planning and day-to-day execution for SEGA’s presence at large-scale trade shows and events. They will be comfortable tracking and working with data and research to help inform multi-channel marketing and event plans.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a First Party evangelist and serve as a central point of contact for cross-functional communications on the planning, reporting, and analysis of partner marketing campaigns for SEGA game titles. Lead partner updates meetings and ensure all relevant internal teams are represented.
  • Work with Brand, Marketing Services, Product Development, and Publishing teams to plan and execute first-party and event marketing activations for SEGA brands and products in order to impact specified business KPIs.
  • Represent SEGA of America and ensure alignment with SEGA of Japan and SEGA of Europe to successfully support partnerships and programs with first parties and other partners within the Americas.
  • Produce First Party presentations with Brand and Product teams, providing actionable insights and feedback as to the format, content, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage game roadmaps and shared marketing plans to keep internal and external teams up to date on key business and marketing plan details over time.
  • Lead internal committee to select, plan and design content and featuring for corporate events, balancing design with budgetary requirements.
  • Manage logistics and deliverables for trade shows, including registration, staffing, schedules, custom premium items, housing, packing, and shipping.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with key event logistics partners to increase efficiencies.
  • Track and analyze partner marketing and event activation performance ROI to understand trends and make recommendations for future projects and KPIs.
  • Route, organize, and distribute key marketing assets and materials across internal stakeholders and publishing partners for digital and partner marketing campaigns.
  • Keep up to date with videogames, entertainment, social network, event, and pop culture trends to continuously educate all stakeholders and inform strategic planning.
  • Work with Legal, Accounting, and other internal stakeholders to ensure event and vendor contracts are clearly defined, documented, and executed. Manage internal process for completing payments according to contractual obligations.
  • Other responsibilities are performed as assigned or needed.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • 3-5 years of experience across digital and/or partnership marketing, communications, and event management.
  • Video game and/or Entertainment industry experience preferred.
  • Thrives in a cross-functional role within a matrixed global organization.
  • Must be detail-oriented; possess good time management skills and business process management abilities. Should be solution-oriented and able to prioritize quickly in a changing environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with all departments and levels within the company, as well as with external partners and outside vendors, to keep projects on track. Must be able to give and receive factual information, give and receive clear directions, explain difficult material, and convince others to take action.
  • Ability to put together strategic marketing presentations and evangelize them to all stakeholders.
  • Ability to see trends, understand the competitive landscape and have the aptitude to see the big business picture. Able to understand the perspective of the game consumer across genres and platforms.
  • Experience managing high-profile partners/accounts and working with large-scale multi-media entertainment franchises on global campaigns is a plus.

SEGA of America is seeking a Localization Tools Engineer to help empower our world-class localization team to leverage tools, automation, and technology to connect with our development partners and international localization and QA teams.

For this position, we are looking someone who is not only familiar with programming languages like #C and Java, and/or scripting languages like Visual Basic and Python and loves solving manual tasks with automated solutions, but also has a love for video games and languages and hopefully speaks one or two. Our ideal candidate is not necessarily a veteran engineering genius, but rather someone who is looking to move into the video game localization and testing space by leveraging their automation and tooling experience. However, if you are experienced in the space and are looking to build things and solve problems, we would love to talk to you.

In the SEGA localization Department, you will spend your days…

  • Working with Project Managers to set up automated localization frameworks to remove manual, human interaction when it comes to text assets.
  • Helping to design data conversion workflows and advising localization project teams on how to integrate with them.
  • Writing automation scripts to pull text files and assets from remote locations, convert to other formats, and implementing syncing automation with tools such as MemoQ and SVN.
  • Generating snapshot progress and change reports based on data deltas.
  • Listening to how the localization teams work and building or adjusting existing data workflows to better meet the team needs and/or create more capability and resilience in their work.
  • Crafting and casting Regex spells.

Key Job Qualifications:

  • Software Engineering or Computer Science degree or a minimum of two years equivalent work experience.
  • Understanding of professional software development best practice.
  • Can effectively use Python, Visual Basic, Excel Macros, and C#. Regex is a big plus.
  • Passing knowledge of localization toolsets, such as MemoQ or Trados preferred. Experience working with Asian language text preferred.

Job Summary:

Our producers are internationally-minded professionals who coordinate between our Japan-based development teams, our Irvine-based J2E language teams and Europe- based EU language teams, distributed QA services, and NA/EU Marketing teams to deliver world-renowned SEGA and Atlus product to market on time, on budget, and at target quality.

  • Juggling game projects in different stages of development, maybe even two or three at a time if that is the need.
