SEGA is seeking an experienced, creative, highly capable Video Game Senior Producer to join our talented team in developing the next generation of award-winning games for console, PC, and emerging platforms. The Senior Producer will be responsible for managing multiple projects utilizing external development teams globally, as well as supporting the product publishing and development process from concept through and after release. Responsibilities include greenlighting, scheduling, tracking development, budgeting, and ensuring team deliverables are met in a timely manner, on budget and at high quality. The Senior Producer will also manage a small team of Producers/APs and coordinate a wide array of relationships with internal stakeholders globally along with internal team resources to produce content and assets for multiple platforms.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the execution of the game development process to produce high quality content within business parameters such as schedule, quality, and budget.
  • Creating and maintaining project plans, in conjunction with the development team(s), including scope, resources, schedule, and budget.
  • Managing a small team of Producers and Associate Producers.
  • Working closely with business development team to identify and vet development partners worldwide.
  • Leading the creation of game design and definition by developing concept design documents and specifications in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Setting expectations both internally and with our external development partners through clear documentation and communication.
  • Communicating project status to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Working with all internal business units including localization, QA, publishing, marketing, licensing, animation, legal, sales, etc.
  • Recommending and implementing new processes where efficiencies are needed to improve quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive, productive, and communicative working environment.
  • Proactively assessing risk and mitigating, as necessary.
  • Some travel required (domestic and international)

 

 

The skills & experience we’re looking for:

  • At least 7 years of experience in the entertainment software industry, with the most recent role preferably as a Sr. Producer or equivalent.
  • Experience managing internal game development teams.
  • Industry experience on both development and publisher sides a plus.
  • Production experience of the entire lifecycle of video-game software development (concept to ship) of at least one title on current generation consoles/platforms (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC).
  • Expertise in one area in addition to production. (design, engineering, art, QA, etc.)
  • Practical experience with modern production methodologies.
  • Experience with project management software (Jira, Hansoft, DevTrack, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven production team leadership and management experience including: employee selection, employee development, performance management, conflict resolution, team facilitation, budgeting, and project planning.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise creative feedback.
  • Ability to diagnose inefficiencies and suggest solutions.
  • Ability to foresee and communicate risks and obstacles to all stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable of current trends and happenings in the video game industry.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (required)

SEGA is seeking an experienced, organized, highly capable Video Game Associate Producer to join our talented team in developing the next generation of award-winning games for console, PC, and emerging platforms. The Associate Producer will primarily be responsible for supporting the Publisher-side Production services for the software title in development through effective scheduling, communicating with worldwide teams, and setting up services from concept through to post-launch support. Responsibilities include scheduling services, tracking project deliverables, completing request forms, communicating effectively, and ensuring team deliverables are met in a timely manner, on budget and at high quality. The Associate Producer will also help manage and coordinate a wide array of relationships with internal stakeholders globally along with internal team resources to produce content and assets for multiple platforms.

Working closely with the Production Team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the set-up and scheduling of the game production services process to produce high-quality content within business parameters such as schedule, quality, and
  • Creating and maintaining project service schedules, in conjunction with the Production team, including scope, resources, schedule, and budget.
  • Working closely with the Production team to identify and vet vendor partners for Production services.
  • Work with the Japanese-native speaking Creative, Publishing, and Development team members to support the requests of local PD Team.
  • Setting expectations both internally and with our external vendor partners through clear documentation and communication.
  • Navigate 1st Party Publishing sites for information and instruction.
  • Communicate across all internal teams including localization, QA, publishing, IT, marketing, licensing, animation, legal, sales, etc.
  • Recommending and implementing new processes where efficiencies are needed to improve quality, on-time, and on-budget

Retail Development Manager

Summary:

 

SEGA of America Licensing, based in Burbank, CA, is on a path to growth and is searching for a Retail Development Manager. A top-notch candidate will be afforded a challenging and dynamic role to build and maintain relationships with key retail partners in a unique and fast-paced environment. The Manager will contribute to achieving the Business Plan (BP) targets by securing, developing and implementing US retail programs designed to drive revenue across key licensed product categories. They will work closely with the retail development agency to cultivate retail programs and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on the execution. The Manager will also have responsibility for financial decision-making, tracking and reconciliation, along with content/pitch deck development and presentation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic brand champion at key retail accounts.
  • In collaboration with Licensing Director, craft retail strategy that outlines revenue objectives, partnership opportunities and multi-year growth plans.
  • In partnership with the retail development agency, secure retail placement and programs that are aligned to retail strategy and will contribute to achieving BP goals.
  • Deliver revenue by partnering with category managers and licensee sales teams to drive sell-in and sell-through of key categories at retail.
  • Pitch retailers to influence sell-in by presenting brand updates and partnership opportunities inclusive of evergreen and content activations.
  • Manage complex, cross-category retail programs with multiple marketing activations.
  • Work closely with internal teams on program activations and to provide insight and consultation for retail needs to inform SEGA business plans.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years of demonstrated experience in delivering revenue with retail partners.
  • Solid comprehension of consumer products manufacturing and sales lifecycle.
  • Exceptional communication and account management skills. Must be a dynamic and effective presenter.
  • Experience in working with key retail partners such as Target, Walmart, Amazon, Hot Topic, Spencer’s and GameStop.
